Ding Dong Merrily on High! Welcome to day 1 of 'An Optimistic Advent Calendar'. From now until the 24th, I'll be bringing you a daily dose of Christmas cheer by sharing all sorts of festive makes and bakes, things to see and do and of course, lots of pretty pictures - all served up with an extra handful of seasonal sparkle. So pop back tomorrow for another look.
We all know that as the clock strikes Midnight on the 30th November, it immediately becomes acceptable to crack out the festive films and over recent years, it has become something of a tradition to kick off the Christmas countdown with one in particular - Knightley, Firth, Rickman, Thompson, Neeson, Nighy, Linney, Grant. Who doesn't love Love Actually?
Beginning with the wedding everyone wishes they'd gotten an invite to and ending with the world's greatest primary school carol concert, Richard Curtis' modern festive classic is stuffed with more sugary delights than your Grandad on Boxing Day. So who's up for a mass screening this chilly December evening? Thought you might be. To get us warmed up and possibly a little bit misty eyed, here's 2 minutes and 20 seconds of indisputable Curtis brilliance.
Gorgeous!
