A Ginger's Guide to Summer - Step 3

You're sun safe, you're looking good, so now it's time to get outside! With hundreds of events taking place up and down the country this Summer, you'll be spoilt for choice. Here are just a few highlights.

If music's your bag, chances are Summer's your favourite season because it's prime time for festivals. Isle of Wight is in full swing; Latitude, LoveBox and Bestival are all still to come, but if the idea of sleeping in a field with thousands of other rowdy festival-goers is NOT your bag, maybe you should try a 'one day festival' like BST Hyde Park. Held across two weekend's in July, it boasts crowd-pleasing headliners such as Kings of Leon and The Killers.



For an altogether quieter affair, why not venture to one of the many Al Fresco Cinema and Theatre events taking place across the country? Luna Cinema are showing films throughout the Summer in more than 50 beautiful locations, including Dirty Dancing in Bath's Royal Crescent and Pride & Prejudice at Chatsworth House. As well as established outdoor theatres like The Minack and Regent's Park, many



The Summer sun makes everything more appealing, including (believe it or not) exercise! So why not use the warmer weather as an excuse to get fit and meet new people? Nike have a nationwide scheme to get more women into Tennis, with weekly coaching sessions at Sports Clubs up and down the country - check out the Tennis Tuesday's website for more info. If you're more a spectator than a participant, Wimbledon's just around the corner and screen's are springing up across the land so that you can feel part of the action. Reader's in the North West, I reccommend sitting on the green at MediaCityUK with a glass of Pimms, bliss.
